Kópavogur: Snapshots of a Reykjavik Suburb

Kopavegur, a suburb of Reykjavik, Iceland

Recently, a few friends and I took the bus out to the suburb of Kópavogur to try out the pool there. This may seem a little strange since there are seven within Reykjavik, but the Icelandic pool is a magnificent creature that draws foreigners magnetically to its glory. I don’t want to exaggerate, but swimming laps in a warm pool outdoors with a view of snow covered mountains then dashing through the cold air to one of several hot pots….well….it’s just delicious.

  1. I’m living vicariously through you. The thought of winter is always enticing in the throes of Oklahoma’s summer heat, but then it happens and I’m shivering for four months straight. I take showers at this point to stay warm, not to stay clean. Ha!
