This “map” of Iceland on Hverfisgata is made from bits of glass and mirror, and looks wonderful in the sunlight. There’s a magnificent, enormous bouquet of mushrooms and other colorful fungi on the opposite wall in this overgrown little lot. I recommend checking it out.
As the lettering on this suggests, it is directly behind Dillon Whiskey Bar on Laugavegur. Honestly, go behind almost any building on Laugavegur and Hverfisgata and you fill find great art. I think the misc appliances and electronics in this little courtyard are a great addition to the piece.
It’s hard to tell from the photo, but this “drip” on Hverfisgata is made from sequins, so it moves in the wind, just like the mountain top between Hverfisgata and Laugavegur (right around the Lebowski Bar area).
