I think Old West Side has become one of my favorite places to wander in Reykjavik. It’s a bit removed from downtown, so you usually only see locals walking around. On a sunny weekend afternoon, it almost feels like walking into a different time….everything slows down in this charming residential area. Young parents take their babies out for a walks in ornate prams (Icelanders treat the baby carriage like a full blown fashion accessory), older residents tidy up their little yards, the air is clean, and the streets are quiet. It also has some of the most beautiful old houses in the city.
