If I had to pick two colors to describe Icelandic towns, it would be red and blue. These bold colors stand in contrast to the dark, subdued landscape, creating one of the wonderful juxtopsitions of Iceland: intense, dark, and rugged landscape/ charming, quirky, and colorful towns and cities. These photos are from the harbor in Ísafjörður, where fishing is a big industry. In my last post, you can see Icelanders unloading the fish from the ship’s freezers and into the huge, refrigerated processing buildings.
