It was already past midnight by the time we started heading back to our guesthouse in Ísafjörður from Látrabjarg and Rauðasandur. The sky stays light 24 hours for most of June, turning cotton candy pink and blue for a few hours as sunset and sunrise merge together in dreamy in-between state. It is a truly surreal experience. After a soak in a natural hot pot, we stopped here on the same stretch of beach on the south coast of the Westfjords to get a good look at the cold waves washing onto the black sand beach.
