It was quite foggy when we drove around the Vatnsnes peninsula. The shores of this northern Icelandic peninsula are supposed to be great for spotting seals, which is why we decided to spend the extra few hours driving around instead of cutting across the base on the Ring Road. Alas the fog kept the water completely out of sight almost entirely, but we did see quite a few herds of beautiful Icelandic horses. June is baby season on the island, so we also saw quite a few daring foals running between their mothers’ legs and playing with each other.
