The National Gallery of Denmark (Statens Museum for Kunst) is a fantastic museum. If you are interested in learning more about art, they have a brilliantly curated collection of Danish art from the 1800’s-1900’s that will get you up to speed. They also have a great recurring event called SMK Fridays, which is basically a big party at the museum. I went back in September a few of my flatmates and had a blast. It was an usually warm evening, and all the kids were taking advantage of that by playing in the big fountain in front of the museum. The courtyard and atrium of the museum were filled with chic Danes, a DJ was playing music that could be heard a block away, and beer and sausages were being served.
