The University of Toronto & A Building Shaped Like a Peacock

000017torontoThe Robarts Library (the two pictures below), is one of the more important North American examples of brutalist architecture, a style clearly designed to remind humans of life’s bleak reality so that they succumb to their assigned life’s drudgery for the betterment of the motherland. Anyway, the building also happens to look like a scary geometric peacock– hence it’s nickname “The Peacock.”  000014toronto
